Is Your IT Provider Effectively Handling Your Technology?

August 13, 2024

Appointing an IT professional in your company is not only the most essential factor but also the most accountable one, especially in the regulation of such a substantive issue as IT Services. One should not lag in ascertaining that the IT employer addresses all the required areas. This short evaluation allows you to determine your organization’s IT provider’s effectiveness in managing the company’s technology.
The backup system includes a backup system on the premises and in the cloud.

IT Provider checklist
  1. We last performed a backup test less than three months ago.
  2. It has only two accounts (us and you) with admin rights from the domain.
  3. Our network switches and access points are of the same management type: remote management.
  4. Our firewall has active security services.
  5. Our guest Wi-Fi is segregated from the internal corporate network.
  6. All available Microsoft 365 accounts have been configured to have MFA.
  7. We have employee onboarding and offboarding documentation.
  8. Every device that is issued for management purposes comes with an anti-virus program.
  9. Also, every managed device comes with Managed Detection and Response (MDR).
  10. In the organization, we use spam filtering, which blocks or makes users aware of an email that is spoofing (where a user or executive is impersonated).

To end this short review is rather important. If your IT provider does not meet these criteria, they outsource certain elements o of your organization’s technology. Think of a more involved IT Partner who not only reports back occasionally but also updates you on what has been going on with your IT systems and how he plans to address any problems and is efficient at understanding your IT needs. However, if these items have not been recommended in your Quarterly Business Reviews, then it is time to look for other alternatives. Get in touch with BIT Insight Group today!
